This current body of work evolved from a desire to create new contemporary images of some of England's most painted and photographed buildings and cityscapes. My style has evolved over a number of years and merges photography with digital art. Photography clearly has the benefit of being able to accurately show the immense detail present in the stonework of the cathedrals and abbeys. Overlaying the modified photographs with digital artwork has allowed me to also emphasise the luminance of the stained glass and use colour and tone to create balance and atmosphere in the pictures.
I am currently based in York and display my work in galleries in Yorkshire. However, as I come close to completion of my study of the country's cathedrals I hope to exhibit my work further afield. Please see the 'stockists' tab above for further details.
